First Aid Tips for Fracture

Do you know what you must do when a friend of yours gets a fracture? Are you aware of the first aid methods which you can give to the patient to rescue his life? I think you are not aware of the first aid tips to be followed immediately after the fracture as ten percent of the people faced with fractured bones aren’t. Let me tell you about some of the first aid tips which you should know. They will really help you rescue the life of someone who needs your help.
If the patient is suffering from the bone fracture, you must follow the following first aid methods:
1.     The first thing that you should do is to check if the patient is breathing or not. If you feel that he is not breathing, it is an emergency case. Call 911 for help. In the meantime, you can give him CPR to save his life.
2.     You must examine the injuries of the patient. If he has a fractured bone then check the associated injuries in the surrounding area.
3.     If you notice bleeding, try to control it.  You can tie a piece of cloth around the injured area.
4.     Due to pain, the patient can become uncontrolled. Help keep the patient cool and calm.
5.     If the fracture is an open type you must take care of the infection. Open fractured sites can easily get infected. You can rinse the wound if it is possible. This will remove dirt from the wound and will prevent it from getting infected.
