Role of X-rays in Diagnosing Fracture

If you wanted to know the exact nature of the broken bone when an injury is not obvious, like a piece of bone having broken the skin, X-rays must be taken by the patient. The doctor is not able to determine the nature of the fracture then the role of X-ray is more important for the patient and for the doctor. Even a femoral fracture can be walked on, especially greenstick or stress fractures, with considerable pain, but it can be done. Without X-ray, it is not possible to determine the exact position of the fractured bone. The doctors will not able to give the proper treatment to the patient.
The X-rays will determine the nature of the break, the condition of the bones and tissues, and whether any foreign objects have been introduced to the area. It is very important to know how much area is broken in the body and the impact of that injury to the body. The images produced in the X-ray results will also help the doctor determine what treatment can be done, like taping up the ribs to immobilize them for healing. With the help of the X-ray image, the doctor is ready for the right treatment.
When the break occurs in the extremities, they are often not exactly clean breaks, and surgery may be needed to remove bone fragments, insert pins or rods to stabilize the bone, or realign the bones before any cast or immobilization aids can be applied to set the break. In the time of fracture, the doctor uses lot of products to aid in the treatment of the patient. We can say that the X-ray plays a 99 % support in detecting the injury or the fracture and treating it.
