Some Precautions for Fracture Cases

Some precautions must be taken while a person is suffering from a broken bone. You must give him the first aid required at the time to help save the life of the patient. In this article we will discuss about certain things which one should keep in mind while giving first aid to a patient with a fracture. You must take note of the following things to prevent any further injury to the patient:
1. Do not let the patient move unless it is important. Keep the patient still and calm.
2. Do not move the patient having a fracture in the pelvis or upper leg. If you do so then it can move the broken bone from its place and it will result in further injuries.
3. If you suspect a fractured spinal cord, don’t ever move the patient.
4. Do not straighten the fractured part.
5. Do not touch the broken part.
6. If there is a fracture in the head or neck not try to move the person and say him to lay down flat.
In such cases immediately call a doctor for help. You must check for the blood circulation near the fracture. You can do it simply by pressing the nerves near the fractured part of the patient. Press the nerves with your figure tip. If you feel loss of pulse do not do anything with the patient and call the doctor. At this time the patient needs emergency medical help.
